The world is more beautiful when we can use our creativity to express ourselves. Art therapy allows people experiencing challenges to explore their thoughts and emotions through unique methods. Art therapy combines creative directives with opportunities to engage in verbal processing. Clients often create a piece of art to be used as a starting point for more in-depth exploration. There is no artistic talent needed to engage in art therapy. The materials can be as simple as paper and pencil. If a client wants to try different methods (such as paint, clay, or collage), the therapist can offer and direct that.
